My Journey
My earliest memories are of my friends and me playing on our school's playground. We made our impossibly wonderful stories come to life as we bobbed and weaved through the obstacles, being pursued by space pirates or searching for mecha-dino's. Every story we came up with felt so real that I could picture our masterpieces right in front of us, as if we had been teleported into our own world.
In school, I was drawn toward math and science because I wanted to understand how the world worked and how to improve it. I enjoyed my biology classes so much that I entered college wanting to go to medical school. However, after I came to Georgia Tech, I started reevaluating what I wanted to do, and all of my childhood memories came flooding back. I loved being creative and imaginative, and I wanted to take what was in my head and make it a reality. My initial plan after this revelation was to invent an interface that could read my brainwaves and synthesize models of what I so vividly imagined. This was when I began working at NASA, creating a virtual world to study astronauts. Outside work, I enjoyed exploring this world with my friends by hiking, sailing, and visiting parks, caves, and museums. Additionally, I loved delving into other worlds through books, movies, and video games. I became engrossed in these narrations of characters interacting with fantastical environments, which made me realize why I enjoyed making them myself. Ever since I was a kid, worldbuilding served as a vehicle for me to connect with the people around me. From playing make-believe on the playground to discussing my favorite video games with my college friends, I wanted to explore worlds with people and characters who I bonded with. I wanted to go on adventures with friends, fight bad guys, tame beasts, and get to know my party-members a little bit better day by day. The characters in my favorite stories were fictional, but they felt so real, like they were old friends. Since then, I've known what I really wanted to do: tell meaningful human stories in marvelous, imaginative worlds. I embrace my creative side wholeheartedly, and I am ready to showcase my world. |
My Hobbies & Interests
Making
Even though I am no longer an engineering student, I still love building interesting gadgets and neat projects. My work at the Invention Studio fueled my passion for making, and once I graduate, I fully intend to continue crafting. In particular, I enjoy making things from my favorite movies and books growing up, such as "Lilo & Stitch", "How to Train Your Dragon", and "The Avengers".
Storytelling & Streaming
As I mentioned before, the stories I heard growing up helped shape who I am, and I want to tell my stories to help others discover who they are. So, I began a storytelling livestream on Twitch, and I'll upload more polished versions of the stories I come up with to YouTube. Click here to check it out!
Traveling & Hiking
While designing my intricate worlds, I draw inspiration from all over this world. I enjoy immersing myself in other cultures and discovering natural wonders. Hiking is also a great way to clear my head and gain a new perspective.
